Albius Tibullus, known more informally by only his cognomen, was a Roman elegiac poet born in Pedum in the year 55 BC. Not much is known of his life, but he was a master of love poetry. Two books of verse, about lovers named "Delia" and "Nemesis," respectively, were published during his lifetime. He died in the year 19 BC.
