Livia Drusilla, born in 55 BC, was the mother of the Roman emperor Tiberius. She married his father Tiberius Claudius Nero, and he was born, but in 38 BC, Augustus forced them to divorce so she could marry him. She had another son named Drusus Senior, but he was Tiberius Claudius Nero's, too. When Tiberius ascended the throne, she attempted to control the government, but was unsuccessful. She was known for intelligence, dignity, and ambition, and she died in 29.
